Indoor Air Quality & Ventilation Upgrades

Overview

Air quality work is only credible when it is measured. CMI approaches IAQ as an engineering scope: measure the outside air actually delivered, the exhaust actually removed, filter loading against fan capacity, and the pressure relationships between spaces — then upgrade what the data says is deficient and document the result.

Typical scope includes filtration upgrades to MERV 13/14/15 or HEPA with fan and static pressure analysis, outside air economizer and damper repair, dedicated outside air systems, exhaust and make-up air corrections, humidity control and dehumidification, UV-C and bipolar ionization where appropriate, duct cleaning coordination, and CO2 demand-control ventilation tied into the BAS.

For healthcare and therapeutic facilities, we work to ASHRAE 170 and CDPH requirements: air changes per hour, positive and negative pressure rooms, isolation and protective environment rooms, pharmacy compounding suites under USP 797/800, procedure and sterile processing areas. Every upgrade leaves a verification report you can hand to a surveyor.

IAQ & Ventilation Upgrades — straight answers

Can our existing air handler carry MERV 14 or HEPA filters?
Sometimes, and sometimes not — that is exactly what we check first. We measure current static pressure and fan capacity, model the added resistance, and tell you whether the upgrade needs a fan, motor, drive or housing change to avoid starving the zones.
Do you certify pressure relationships for isolation rooms?
We perform and document the mechanical work and airflow verification and coordinate the independent certifier where one is required. You receive the airflow, ACH and differential-pressure documentation with the closeout package.
Is UV-C or ionization worth installing?
Only where filtration, outside air and pressure relationships are already correct. We will tell you plainly when a device is being sold as a substitute for ventilation that simply needs to be repaired.
