24/7 Emergency Mechanical & HVAC Service
Round-the-clock response for chiller and boiler failures, steam and pipe breaks, and critical cooling loss — with temporary equipment options.
Mechanical emergencies are not evenly distributed. They happen during the first heat wave, during a holiday weekend, in the middle of a production run, or the night before a survey. What matters at that moment is whether the contractor answering the phone knows your building and can get a qualified person — not a dispatcher's promise — moving toward it.
CMI runs 24/7 emergency service across San Diego County for the systems we build: chillers and chilled water plants, boilers and steam, cooling towers, air handlers and critical cooling, welded and process piping, and controls failures that leave a building without stable pressure or temperature. Our service trucks carry the parts that fail most often, our technicians can work on plants without a factory rep, and we can source and set temporary chillers, boilers and air handlers when a repair will not be fast enough.
We also fix the actual problem instead of the symptom. A chiller that trips on low evaporator pressure every afternoon is not solved by resetting it, and a steam leak is rarely just one bad trap. On emergency calls we stabilize first, then tell you plainly what caused it, what it will take to correct, and what will happen if it is deferred. Maintenance agreement customers get priority dispatch and pre-agreed rates; anyone can call.

Facility types
Emergency Service — straight answers
- How fast can you get someone on site?
- For agreement customers in San Diego County we target on-site response within a few hours, and faster for critical facilities with defined response times in their contract. For non-agreement calls it depends on current load — which is the honest answer, and the reason critical facilities put an agreement in place before they need one.
- Can you get temporary cooling if our chiller is beyond repair?
- Yes. We size, source, rig, pipe and control temporary chillers and spot cooling, including power coordination with your electrician. We have done it enough times to know that the hard part is usually the tie-in location and the power, not the rental itself — so we plan those first.
- Do we have to be a maintenance customer to call you?
- No. Anyone can call and we take emergency work from new clients regularly. Agreement customers simply get dispatched first and at pre-agreed rates, and we already know their plant, which usually shortens the repair itself.
