Privacy policy

This notice explains how Cooper Mechanical, Inc. handles information collected through https://coopermi.com. It does not cover information you give us in person, by phone, or through a signed contract, purchase order or bid document.

The only place this site asks for information is the request form. When you submit it we receive your name, company, email address, phone number, the topic you selected and whatever you typed in the message box. We use that information for one purpose: to respond to your request and, if it turns into work, to quote and perform it.

Form submissions are emailed to our office and written to a log file on the server. We keep them as long as they are commercially useful — typically for the life of the customer relationship — and we do not sell, rent or trade them.

Our web server records standard request logs: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser user-agent. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.

The site sets one cookie, cmisess, which exists only to protect the contact form against cross-site request forgery. It contains no personal information, is not used for advertising, and expires when you close your browser.

If Google Analytics is enabled in our site settings, Google collects aggregate usage data — pages viewed, approximate region, device type — subject to Google’s own privacy policy. IP anonymisation is on. We use it to understand which services people look for, not to identify individuals. Browser “Do Not Track” signals and analytics-blocking extensions are respected; the site works normally without analytics.

We share form submissions with our web host and our email provider, because they carry the message, and with nobody else — except where we are legally required to, or where sharing is necessary to perform work you have asked us to do (for example, providing a jobsite contact to a manufacturer for a warranty claim).

The site is served over HTTPS, the form is rate-limited and CSRF-protected, and access to the server is restricted to the people who maintain it. No website can promise perfect security, but we do not store payment data, Social Security numbers or any other sensitive personal information on this site.

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@coopermi.com or call (858) 752-4540 and we will handle it. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA; the same contact details apply.

This is a commercial contracting website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
