Commercial & Institutional Boiler Installation and Repair
Firetube, watertube and condensing boilers — installation, retubing, burner service and combustion tuning to code.
Boilers carry sterilization, humidification, domestic hot water and heating loads that a facility cannot improvise around. CMI installs, repairs and maintains firetube and watertube steam boilers, hot water boilers and high-efficiency condensing plants — including the low-NOx burner and controls work that California air districts require.
On the service side we handle burner overhauls and combustion tuning with analyzer readings, refractory repair, tube replacement and retubing, low-water cutoff and control replacement, feedwater and deaerator systems, chemical treatment coordination, safety valve replacement and annual inspection support. We troubleshoot flame safeguard and burner management systems rather than swapping parts until the lockout clears.
On the installation side we take the plant end to end: load calculation and boiler selection, demolition, rigging into tight basement rooms, stacks and breeching, gas train and piping, condensate and feedwater systems, near-boiler piping done right, controls and lead/lag sequencing, then combustion tuning, permitting support with the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District, and operator training.

Boiler Installation & Repair — straight answers
- Do you provide temporary steam during a boiler replacement?
- Yes. For hospitals and process facilities we plan rental boiler placement, temporary piping, condensate return and controls so sterilizers, humidification and domestic hot water stay online through the changeover.
- Can you handle low-NOx requirements and air district permitting?
- We select compliant burners, provide the emissions and equipment data, and support the permit application and source testing with San Diego County APCD. Combustion tuning results are documented with analyzer printouts.
- Is retubing worth it versus replacing the boiler?
- It depends on shell condition, age, efficiency and code exposure. We inspect, give you both numbers — retube cost against a new plant with the resulting fuel savings and permitting path — and let the life-cycle cost decide.
